How it works

Attend, complete the session, receive your documentation.

Texas classroom teachers renew a standard certificate with 150 clock hours of CPE every five years. Principals, counselors, librarians, educational diagnosticians and reading specialists need 200. Clock hours are awarded at one hour of credit for one hour of instruction.

Flagship session

Documentation That Holds Up

Six clock hours on the full documentation chain, from present levels through service logs. You bring one student file, with identifying information removed, and leave with drafted documentation for that student and a routine you can repeat.

By the end of the session you will be able to
  • Write a present levels statement that names the disability-related need, cites at least two data sources, and states baseline performance in observable terms.
  • Draft measurable annual goals that follow from that statement and state the condition, the behavior, and the criterion.
  • Select accommodations that match a documented need, and describe how each one will be delivered and recorded.
  • Record progress on a six-week cycle using data a parent or an outside reviewer can follow.
  • Complete a service log entry showing the service, the duration, the setting, and the student response.
  • Find gaps, vague language, and contradictions in a student file, and revise them.
  • Compare logged delivery against the minutes written in the IEP, and know what to do when the two diverge.
  • Build a documentation routine and a campus follow-up plan for the next grading cycle.

Who it is for. SpEd teachers and case managers, general education teachers serving students with disabilities, campus principals and assistant principals, educational diagnosticians, reading specialists, counselors and SpEd coordinators. A leader track runs alongside the teacher track when a campus team attends together.

What you receive

Your certificate of completion

Every participant receives a certificate at the close of the session carrying each element the Texas Education Agency requires. The matching sign-in and sign-out record carries the same elements.

Records and quality

How we keep the record

Attendance records, session dates, session content and clock hours are kept for seven years after each session. For online sessions, the platform attendance report is matched against the sign-in record before any certificate is released.

Participants complete an evaluation at the close of every session, and a short follow-up survey six weeks later. Results are reviewed after each session, and the curriculum is revised where a group did not reach a stated objective. Revisions are logged with a date and a reason.

Questions

Registering and earning hours

To register for a session or ask about dates, email allie.wilson@iepassure.com. Webinar registration is on the webinar page.

Do I have to work at a district that uses IEP Assure?
No. Every session is open to all Texas educators, whatever platform your district uses, and there is no fee.
Do the platform training sessions count the same as the others?
They carry clock hours the same way, and each is built around documentation practice rather than a product tour. If you would rather skip them, the other eighteen sessions stand on their own.
Can my campus host a session for our whole team?
Yes. Campus and district teams can host a session on site or run one online. Teams attending together build a shared documentation routine and a six-week review cycle before they leave. Email us to schedule one.
How do hours appear on my certificate?
Clock hours are awarded at one hour for one hour of instruction. Breaks and meals are not counted. The number printed on your certificate is the creditable instructional time for that session.
What if I lose my certificate?
Email us with your name and the session date. Our attendance records are kept for seven years, so we can reissue it.
Who teaches these sessions?
Allie Wilson, founder of IEP Assure, EC-12 special education certified, with six years of Texas SpEd experience in case management and IEP documentation. Every presenter holds current Texas certification in the area they teach and more than five years of experience in it.
How do sessions connect to Texas standards and dyslexia requirements?
Every objective is mapped to the Texas Teacher Standards, and to the Texas Principal Standards for leader sessions. Goal writing ties to grade-level TEKS. Content on educating students with disabilities, including students with dyslexia, is built into every documentation session and reviewed each summer against current TEA guidance.
